To give a brief background, roulette was first played in the 17th century, by the French people. It is one of the most popular European gambles in the world, because of its easiness. The most known casino in the world is that of Monte Carlo, found in Monaco.

To start off, you already know what there can be eight players in a game of roulette. There can be more or less but most of the time, there are eight players. The dealer represents the casino. He is the one who spins the wheel. Each player has different colors of chips to prevent mix-up. These chips can be exchanged for cash chips, if you win, at the end of the game.

The main objective of the game is to predict where the ball would fall. If you get it right, then you win. Or, if it falls somewhere near the number, you still win.

Place your bet/s on numbers in the table layout. When everybody has already chosen what number to bet on, the dealer then spins the wheel, and launches the ball. You can bet until before the wheel stops spinning. But after the dealer says no more bets, no one can change or place their bets. After the dealer clears up the table, you can start betting again.

This is a brief background on how to play roulette. This is not the most comprehensive, but this explains the most basic how tos when playing the game.
