Roulette Wheels: Spinning your Chances and Luck

Roulette wheels hold such magnificent presence and are usually the first game objects noticeable when one enters a casino. With diameter of nearly three feet and weighing close to hundred pounds, the wheels are arguably the center of attention in casinos. Casino players cannot help but be near these objects because of their mystic aura as well as commanding presence.

A typical roulette wheel consists of numbered compartments called pockets, which are in three colors; red, black, and green. The pockets are numbered 1 to 36 and these are split evenly between the two colors, red and black. The pockets with number 0 and 00 are colored green.

The wheel has a masterfully laid-out design. From across every odd number is the next highest even number. The red and black colored pockets are placed alternately such as pairs of even numbers are paired with odd numbers. A variation though is seen about 0 and 00. For others, knowing the wheel is not really that important but knowing some things about it will somehow create a feeling of closeness to the actual game itself.

There are two types of wheels that can be used in a roulette game, the American roulette wheel and the European roulette wheel. There is not that much difference between the two except for the number of pockets. In the American roulette wheel, there are the numbers 0 and 00; however, for the European roulette wheel there is only the pocket number 0. For most casino players, they prefer to go for the European roulette wheel as there are fewer numbers of pockets increasing their chances of winning the casino.

Roulette wheels are magnificent and are a marvel to look at. Until now the roulette games still remain the top favorite among casino games, classic or not and the wheels the top attraction inside the casino.
